There Is Nothing Like unto Him
لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ
لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ
"There is nothing like unto Him — and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing." (Qur'an 42:11)
Truly — whatever is besides you is falsehood. It is true: 'Everything perishes except the Face of Allah.' 'Khalā'ullāhu bāṭilun' — what is beside Allah is false. Those who are beside Him — we are among the falsehoods? The alphabets (letters) have no metaphorical meaning for those for whom only the outward apparent is perceived or the inward is perceived. Some kind of perception is encompassing them. They are purified from it — thus:
لَا تُدْرِكُهُ الْأَبْصَارُ وَهُوَ يُدْرِكُ الْأَبْصَارَ وَهُوَ اللَّطِيفُ الْخَبِيرُ
"Eyes cannot perceive Him, but He perceives all eyes — and He is the Subtle, the All-Aware." (Qur'an 6:103)
As long as one's thinking does not reach it — as long as one is distant from it — and the wise intellect is leading one astray in the field of true reality. 'Mā aʿrafnāka ḥaqqa maʿrifatik' — O Lord, we have not truly known You as You deserve to be known. In the sea of reality — no one can be drowned — there you step and come back — because you are not there to be found. Because your search is futile there.
[Verse:] "Those who hid behind their selves — they found themselves lost." (Hasrat Haydarabadi)
الْعَجْزُ عَنِ الدَّرَكِ إِدْرَاكٌ
"The inability to perceive — is itself a form of perception."
But again in me — there is also a feeling: why are the monotheists pointing to something? Why are they saying? How is the place? It is pure. The time is pure — the place is pure — no one resembles You — no comparison, no simile — You have no nature.
