Advice to Disciples (Shagirdon ko Nasihaten)
Hazrat Qibla said: Be silent when your heart is full. Abd al-Muqtadir Sahib, in whose heart there is a restlessness — it is not right for him to be silent. They would ask him about things — he would answer. Those things that are necessary to ask about — it is necessary to speak about them — but try to make conversation — what is happening — what should I do — try to imagine things — try to talk — as long as the water flows, the form does not remain — like the moon, when it becomes full — all people will be good. (Various names and qualities were mentioned.) Mention of providing zakat and so on — look at your name — you are not yet capable of taking the imam's name — if you were capable of taking the imam's name you would answer when called — in the East, in the West, wherever I called you, you would answer — then the answer I give — Habib! Habib! Habib! — the dear brother sitting below the throne before me — Habib — from his face I called him. Do not call this my imam! Do not call! (The meaning is: the person who holds false beliefs about the Murshid — do not look to the Murshid, do not visualize him — how can one possibly obtain spiritual perfections? — one should not make effort and keep expecting the Shaykh to pay attention and give spiritual blessing.) An elder sahib came and said: Pray for me to have children, Hazrat! He replied: Then pray for them yourself.
Research of Meaning (Ma'ni ki Tahqiq)
Hazrat Qibla said: What does 'ma'ni' (meaning) mean? Is a Muslim not — my method is not — eating, drinking, walking — this is a method — a single word has many meanings. To limit it is to limit one's understanding.
The Torah — Inna Dini wa Inna Sanna
Hazrat said — December 3, 1940 (Tuesday): The Noble Quran says that in Paradise there are things that no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no human heart has conceived. (He narrated:) 'The Messenger of Allah pointed to the moon and it became two pieces — I clap my hands at this — he wrote all of this as wrong.'
The Torah — December 9, 1940
Hazrat said: Listen! Abu Bakr Siddiq was going to the Messenger's court — who are you with? You gave a response: 'Madi ya bayhad-dini (Guide me to the right path)' (the guide who shows the path) — this is the Torah — it has two meanings — people are close to the meaning in their heart but far from knowing the full meaning. The signified meaning is Torah.
If the Prophet Were Sinless
Hazrat said: If I say the Prophet committed a sin — then what is the consideration? It does not remain — when the consideration does not remain — what is the prophethood's point? (Others can then follow him as a model.)
Hazrat Ali and Muawiya — The Words of Adhan
Hazrat said: Now watch — Hazrat Ali and Muawiya's takers of the name — those taking Ali's name and those taking Muawiya's name — they are saying — I have a special connection with Hazrat Ali — I am disappointed by Shia; I am a Shia friendly by nature. But saying ill of any Sahabi to me — to compare Muawiya with Hazrat Ali is itself wrong. Hazrat Muawiya (may Allah be pleased with him) — when we think about the niyyat — if in truth Muawiya's niyyat was really good for Muslims — then their view was also right. Hazrat Muawiya (may Allah be pleased with him) talks as Sahabi — comes with the difficult problem — comes to mind (khiyal ata).
December 21, 1940 — Governance to the Worldly
Hazrat said: This Islamic government is not for the religious — governance will go to the worldly people (those who have the full acuteness to fulfill the demands of the world, and shrewdness and agility are necessary for governance). Farooq al-A'zam's era — the era of political power, the sultanate's arrangement and so on came — but they were bigger political people — but they did not rise to the point of everyone near and far staying informed. Farooq A'zam in his gatherings would say these things — these habits and so on — for five to seven years it is this approach of Farooq A'zam — Abu Bakr Siddiq did what? — those who came from the Messenger of Allah's court — he did not keep them in the government — for why keep them?
Muslims' Prayers for the Rulers
Hazrat said: I pray to Allah that He give us — I pray to Allah: Abu Bakr and Umar — they brought the divine blessings on us — and like Muawiya and Amr ibn al-As came — they did the control and management — and their governance continued and Ali was also there — where was Abu Bakr's era — in Abu Bakr's time there was no second group — Muslim or kafir (unbeliever) — this was so in Abu Bakr's time that in his era there was no other group — a Jew, a Parsee, a Hindu — if those among them who had become Muslim — needed the Islamic civilization to come — Hazrat Umar's era — in his era they got a hundred years along these lines — but he also gave this strong ground that it should not be taken. This Islamic government — it is not for the religious — governance will go to the worldly.
Hazrat Ali and Muawiya — Continued
Hazrat said: Now watch — those taking Hazrat Ali's name and those taking Muawiya's name — they are saying — I have a special connection — I am a Shia-friendly person. But saying ill of any Companion to me — comparing Muawiya with Hazrat Ali is itself wrong. When we think about Muawiya's niyyat — if in truth his niyyat was good for Muslims — then their view was also right — Hazrat Muawiya (may Allah be pleased with him) talks as Sahabi — comes with the difficult question — comes to mind.
Hazrat Abu Bakr's Personal Piety
Abu Bakr Siddiq — this is the political people (Amr ibn al-As) who always keep the account in mind — they say the war is a deception. Abu Bakr Siddiq does not have this — the enemy asks: Who are these? He says: True, I do not lie — the one who shows me the path — Amr ibn al-As was saying to Abu Bakr: What are you doing? If you save the government — Amr ibn al-As spoke even lies correctly — he was politically right — but he did not lie there — I consider the grandeur of risalat — Abu Bakr's personal taqwa is this — the sword pulled out — Ali came forward and said: Put the sword away — we both fight — wait for Allah's decision.
December 23, 1940 — Fornication and Satan
Hazrat said: Habib! My belief is that zina (fornication) — a man does it, a woman does not — a woman gives the opportunity — (a person Rafi' al-Din was mentioned — Rafi' al-Din was the son-in-law of Habib Ali Sahib — his father-in-law was Rafi' al-Din — a false case was filed and dismissed — and the property was settled) — I have two principles: one that a woman cannot be forced to commit zina, and the second is that Satan only tempts — he cannot force. (As in the Quran, Satan's word is:)
وَمَا كَانَ لِيَ عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَانٍ إِلَّا أَن دَعَوْتُكُمْ فَاسْتَجَبْتُمْ لِي
"I had no authority over you except that I called you and you responded to me." (Ibrāhīm 14:22) — (Meaning: I have no power over you, only inviting — you heeded me and I led you astray — my call you answered).
The Words of the Adhan
Hazrat said: At one time Hazrat Ali wali Allah — Nayab Rasul Allah — wasi nabi Allah — those words in the adhan — Shia people use them in the adhan — (be aware that these words — Shia people from the caliphate government's era, because in that era the government enforced Shia theology, this hue was created in all books) — in those books it says the adhan's words and the iqama words — I wrote that: I do not add the word Ashhad-an-la-ilah-il-Allah — (meaning: Jall Jala-lahu — meaning Allah Jall Jala-lahu does not add — adding Ashhadan to Ashhadan Muhammad) — ashhad-an-la-ilaha-ill-Allah — in the adhan no word can be added — it is narrated by mutawatir — however the consensus (ijma') of the community is with us — on our side — the hadith (of adhan) are (hadith of adhan) — our consensus is with us.
The Wahhabi Sect
Hazrat said: This Wahhabi — it is one of the Khawarij's positions — this form is also there — uncivil it remained — (inappropriately without limit) — so also this 'shirk' which is beginning to be called — and which was 'tawhid' — that too they are beginning to call — the one who remains 'himself too' they think is 'Iblis's tawhid.' Not 'Islamic tawhid.'
December 31, 1940 — The Body and Divine Attributes
Hazrat said: These two eyes — from them one sees beauty, happiness, and (meaning: beauty's appearance is also a happiness and intention is also a happiness) will — all apparent — what is happening; expressions of the face — catch things — the faqirs (spiritual masters) understand these things — (meaning: lowly, below the neck, below the sternum) and this monkey who is there (meaning: below) — there are seven attributes in it — what is now also this — the seven attributes — now what are these seven attributes: life, knowledge, power, will, hearing, sight, speech — so these come to the body — the body is the place of life...
Hazrat said: 'Right!' — one thing to remember — a word — 'heart and heart' — 'O keep the heart in memory!' People say 'heart' here (meaning: the heart in the chest) — our 'heart' means 'place of knowledge' — (meaning: place of knowledge) — what do faqirs do? — (Allah's throne is upon it!) — where is the throne? — this body is — and where is Allah — why the throne — because the seven attributes are in it.
