Imam Hasan's Governance and Peace Treaty

After Hazrat Ali's martyrdom, Imam Hasan took the caliphate. People were coming and saying: You should govern — and Hasan would say to them: You have blackened the face of Muslims. Hazrat Hasan eventually made peace with Muawiya and handed over governance. He appointed his own successors. The result was: Muawiya became stable. Muawiya and Amr ibn al-As came — they did the governing — and this governance continued. Hazrat Ali was also there — where was Abu Bakr's era? In Abu Bakr's time there were not two factions — Muslim or unbeliever — it was so in Abu Bakr's time that in his era there was no other grouping.

Shibha al-Faida (Benefit of the Doubt)

The principle is: giving benefit of the doubt (shubha) in the court — the accused is given the benefit of the doubt — the person with the doubt is caught and the one above is released.

Talha and Zubayr — The Battle of Jamal

In the beginning (of the Battle of Jamal) — I was on Hazrat Ali's side — Talha and Zubayr were the companions of Abu Bakr — they are among the ten (blessed with paradise) — Zubayr and also among the ten — and Abu Bakr's daughter Asma — the wife of Zubayr ibn al-Awwam — Zubayr ibn al-Awwam is very brave — so all gathered — they said: Do justice — Hazrat Ali, Hazrat Umar, and Abu Bakr: came — all gathered — they said: Do justice — that is: Those who came from different sides — started — the war began — (the Battle of Jamal became like this) — Ali ibn Abi Talib wanted this — the war was not the wish of Hazrat Ali — all went to fight — they all gathered to fight — Hazrat Umar's time there was also no civil war — the reason is that in their time the troops' attention was more toward the external enemy — in the time of fighting against the external enemy the civil war does not happen — when they sat down and began to relax the civil war started — Abu Bakr Siddiq fought the apostates — not those who give — we want to implement one of the Shari'a's commands.

Mughira ibn Shu'ba — His Removal (continued)

Hazrat said: But this is the equity (equity) — in the shubha he is striking Muawiya — people said: Muawiya should be suspended — in those people I also said: Khalid ibn Walid was suspended for them — appointing Khalid ibn Walid to stop the opposition — Hazrat Ali says: I give all these orders of shari'ah too — I do not violate any of the shari'ah's commands — people came and said: The killers of Uthman cannot escape blood recompense — Muawiya was not wanting to hear them — he was a brave man — he chose this brave man — they would give the ruling to not hurry — Mughira ibn Shu'ba would come at the end and say to Hazrat Ali: Sir, so listen — take Muawiya and put him in governance — any day he cannot stay in one place as a cause for accusation — the second day Mughira ibn Shu'ba came — Ali would say: You ask me — You are the son-in-law of the Messenger of Allah — you are in front of all — you see your mistakes and others — then Hazrat Ali would say: This is a happy thing — today you were saying the right thing — now you are speaking lies — Muawiya came at that time — when Muawiya came he said: Beware that Muawiya should take Egypt — and he came to a different standpoint — such a bad person cannot stay in the governance for a single day — the second day Mughira ibn Shu'ba would come — Ali's opinion: How is — and Ali — you are in front of all — Muawiya (ibn Abi Sufyan), Amr ibn al-As, and Ali ibn Abi Talib — they would put the writing on them — nothing could be done in front of them — Hazrat Ali was martyred — this came — after that Amr ibn al-As had been managed — he was not coming to prayers — both fell — Hazrat Ali's religious people (Muawiya) were political...

The Battle of Siffin — Continued Account

Hazrat said: But it is equity — in the shubha he strikes Muawiya — people would say: Muawiya should be suspended — among these people I also said — (in those times Muawiya was — 5 years to 7 years — this is Farooq al-A'zam's approach) — Abu Bakr Siddiq did what — those who came from the Messenger's court — he did not keep them in the government — why keep them? Farooq A'zam was great in personal greatness and also intelligent — in their times this: Abu Dharr Ghaffari and others were their habits — they wanted that capitalism should not exist — an Ethiopian, a black man, and others were not nothing — we are Muslims — this was only one matter of madhab — the dominance of madhab was — Uthman and Ali ibn Abi Talib's era — the dominance of worldliness was the basis — comes for its own purpose — as much as Ali came, he distributed everything and gave from Bayt al-Mal — what came, he distributed — kept nothing for the government — why keep?

Hazrat Abu Bakr's Politics

These political people (Amr ibn al-As) keep the account in mind carefully — they say: The war is a deception — Abu Bakr Siddiq does not have this — the enemy asks who are these — he says: True, I don't lie — the one who guides — the one who shows the path — Amr ibn al-As was saying to Abu Bakr: What are you doing? If you save the government — Amr ibn al-As spoke even lies correctly — he was politically right — but there also he did not lie — I consider the grandeur of risalah — Abu Bakr's personal taqwa is this — the sword of taqwa of Abu Hanifa pulling out — Ali came forward and said: Put the sword in the sheath — the command is: Sheathe the sword — we both fight — wait for Allah's decision.

Hazrat Ali's Opinion

Hazrat Ali (may Allah honor his face) had the noble opinion — Hazrat Ali did not compare anything against Abu Bakr — only gave (his own view) to take — (meaning: he only temporally took the caliphate) — only gave his khilafat temporarily.

January 2, 1941 — Paradise and Its Blessings

December 3, 1940 (Tuesday): The Noble Quran says in Paradise there are things that no eye has seen — no ear has heard — it never occurred to any human heart — (he narrated) — The Messenger of Allah pointed at the moon — it became two pieces — I clap my hands at this — (narrated by Sayyid Ahmad) — this means all of this is false.

January 9, 1941 — Torah (December 9, 1940)

Listen! Abu Bakr Siddiq was going to the Messenger of Allah's court — who are you with — He gave the answer: 'Madi ya bayhad-dini (Guide me to the right path)' (the guide who shows the path) — is the Torah — this has two meanings — people are closer to the meaning in mind but far from knowing the later meaning of it. Torah means 'the signified meaning.'

Paradise and Creation — The Blessings of the Hereafter

On this side: What difference came that in heaven — what difference came from creation — 'The Messenger of Allah pointed his finger at the moon — it became two pieces' — I clap my hands at this — (This was narrated by Sayyid Ahmad writing this as all wrong.) On December 9, 1940 (Thursday): Listen! Abu Bakr Siddiq was going in the Messenger's way — who are you with — he answered: 'Madi ya bayhad-dini' (Guide me to the right path) — (The guide who shows the path) — this Torah is — it has two meanings — people near the meaning in mind are far from knowing the end of meaning. Torah means 'the signified.'

Hazrat Abu Bakr's Politics and Siyasat

These political people (Amr ibn al-As) always keep the account carefully — they say: The war is a deception — Abu Bakr Siddiq does not have this in mind — the enemy asks: Who are these people? He says: Truth — I don't lie — He who shows the path — Amr ibn al-As was saying to Abu Bakr: What are you doing? If you save the government — Amr ibn al-As spoke even lies correctly — he was politically right — but there also he did not lie — I consider the grandeur of risalat — Abu Bakr's personal taqwa is this — the sword of taqwa of Abu Hanifa pulling out — Ali came forward and said: Put the sword in the sheath — the command is: Sheathe the sword — we both fight — wait for Allah's decision.

Dhikr and Occupation (Dhikr wa Mashghala)

Hazrat said: December 31, 1940 — the body — these two eyes — from them sees beauty — happiness (meaning: beauty's appearance is also a happiness and the will/purpose is also a happiness) — the will — all apparent — what is happening — expressions of the face — catches — the faqirs take these things — (meaning: lowly, below the neck, below the sternum) — and this monkey/one below (meaning: below) — seven attributes are in it — what is now also this — the seven attributes — now what are these seven: life, knowledge, power, will, hearing, sight, speech — so these come to the body — the body's place...

In Paradise — The Creation's Difference from Heaven

On this topic Hazrat continued: In Paradise there are things of great blessing — what are things there. The village-dweller (one who has never seen a city) — he was asked afterwards: What is 'برفی (barfi, a sweet)' — it is like this: in that environment there is barfi (a sweet candy) — there are hourly — there is one pigeon in the village — also doing work — I wrote — you are ignorant! These things — if you do bad things in this world and this world has no divine effect on your doing — then when such creation the act produces — you do not know — jama' (sexual union) — you think jama' is a bad thing — you do not know its meaning — our pleasure is 'ilmi' (of knowledge) — your pleasure is jismani (bodily) — it is apparent that it will be transferred to the world of knowledge — you will be there by the world of knowledge's decrees — you are ignorant — you do not know about the desires of men — men more desire than women — the desires of a man and woman at the utmost are paired together — the husband and wife — in the one who is passionate — the desire that remains is that — cannot come — the Almighty!! create these desires in the world and then to the extent of its size in the hereafter — so the world's desires — so in the world created these desires and in the hereafter what difference came from creation...
