Chapter 35

The Perfect Human Being — Further on Saints and Prophets

انسان کامل بالذات بالعرض — ولایت — فنا

The Perfect Human Being by Essence (Insān Kāmil bil-Dhāt): The following verses (ash'ār) of the author describe the Perfect Human Being:

مَقصَدِ خَلق جَہاں مِرآتِ اسماء وَصفات ۝ زِینَتِ اَفزائے سَریر و افسر شاہانہ ہم

"The purpose of the creation of the world — the mirror of the Names and Attributes / We are the adornment of the royal throne and crown" — In reality the Perfect Human Being by Essence corresponds only to the attributes of the dear Habib Allah Muhammad Mustafa (peace be upon him) — meaning only Hazrat (the Prophet) is the Perfect Human Being by Essence.

The Prophets have two aspects — (1) Proximity to Allah or walāya — from which they receive Wahi. (2) Proximity to creation — from which they propagate through prophethood (tabligh).

Annihilation of Acts, Attributes, and Essence (Fanā' al-Af'āl, al-Sifāt, wa al-Dhāt): By constantly repeating and meditating on the Divine Names, from these Names' manifestation develops — a certainty in them is produced. The created acts become the acts of the Creator, and some people's provision-receiving (razzāqiyat) becomes identified with God — God Himself sustains them — the Names are all manifestations of and distributors of real power — as one says: lā hawl wa lā quwwata illā bi'Allāh.
