The Training of One's Disciples (اپنے مریدوں کی تربیت)
Hazrat said: I do two things — I give them zakah and I attach them to the community — I read the established rule to people — now our people will come from the field — and will do a great deal of work, God willing. The Shaykh's duty toward his disciples involves both the purification of their characters and their proper connection to the wider Muslim community.
The Soul, Form, and Body (روح، صورت اور جسم)
In the 'alam al-arwah (world of souls) forms also take shape in the mind — in the human being there is a natural inclination that makes it appear in some way and makes the weakness of the world apparent — my problem is this: that the body is a basic thing that after coming back cannot receive anything from the previous attributes — the body after these seven attributes coming — these attributes remain above — as the soul is subject to someone, that soul too is subject — the seven attributes both of its times — this is a composite created thing, it is imaginary.
The Ruler of the Soul (حاکم روح)
وَنَفَخْتُ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِي
'And I breathed into him of My spirit' (al-Hijr 15:29). In it I breathed My own spirit — because 'wa-mā min shayʾin illā yusabbiḥu bi-ḥamdihi (there is not a thing but glorifies His praise)' (al-Isrāʾ 17:44) — meaning: every created thing, in its very being, glorifies and praises Allah — then point by point: the meat and the bones and the flesh reformed and then what is the meaning of the coming of the soul after the formation of the body? — it is the ruler of the soul.
Unity and Attributes (احدیت اور صفات)
We have nothing near to Allah except unity — Allah the Exalted only possesses attributes — they cannot be bound to 'remain' — 'Allah is always the owner of attributes, the owner of effects' — so there is also one new thing found — that is there. The multiplicity of divine attributes is something that is always raised — 'when the owner of attributes reveals Himself to us (He, Allah the Exalted will create it) — will our actions be created?' Ponder this — to feed and to feed at its level so that even at the time of non-knowing, it is possible — (meaning: the one who feeds — knowing ones and the feeding of others — even milk at their level — without their guidance). The whole world's life is from the 'Ilm — and 'Ilm's mertaba (level) with qudrat (power) — and that is the multiplicity of attributes — so these three attributes become fundamental — and from under these attributes of sama'at (hearing) and basar (sight) and irada (will) and kalam (speech) — and in these seven important attributes — and 'Ilm calls them 'ummahat al-sifat (the mother attributes)' — and seven sifat will be — when the owner of attributes reveals Himself from 'Inna' — undoubtedly Allah is without doubt at the highest level — in that multiplicity of attributes there is no diminishment — 'there yes' at the mertaba of ahudiyyat (absolute unity) it is, it is eternal — not temporal — there is an issue of one time that the two fingers move — but definitely two fingers do not move — because there is one time — this precedence — it is precedence of excellence (bi-taqadum), not temporal precedence.
Allah the Exalted's Attributes (اللہ تعالیٰ کی صفات)
Life, knowledge, power — these three attributes stand over all the world — I ponder upon Allah the Exalted — does He create — does He produce? — (meaning: Allah the Exalted creates the creation) — he is created, he comes into being — what did he originally create? — every creation comes from that which was before — it is always so — the work of his creation is from himself — everything that comes into being also comes into being before — it is not like this — the creation is from its 'ism (name) and from its 'ata (gift of existence) — that 'ilm's mertaba is before qudrat — so the 'ilm of that thing before it comes into existence is there — and 'ilm is before qudrat (knowledge precedes power). The creative process in divine terms involves knowledge first, then will, then power manifesting in creation.
