Shams al-Mufassireen, Shaykh al-Muhadditheen, Ustad al-Ulama (Teacher of Scholars), Bahrul Uloom Hazrat Muhammad Abdul Qadeer Siddiqui Hasrat, may the mercy of Allah be upon him, was such a scholarly personality of Hyderabad Deccan who is rightfully remembered by the titles of Bahrul Uloom and Ustad al-Ulama. Your blessed birth took place on Friday, 27 Rajab 1288 AH (13 October 1871 CE) in a famous scholarly household of Hyderabad Deccan. You passed the examinations of Maulvi Fazil and Munshi Fazil from Punjab University with distinction and obtained gold medals. Initially, your appointment was at Darul Uloom, which was a famous educational institution in Hyderabad Deccan at that time. When Osmania University was established, you were appointed as Professor and Head of the Department of Theology. By means of a royal decree, the duration of your employment was continuously extended for ten years. You wrote a complete tafseer (exegesis) of the Glorious Qur'an. Which has been published from India and Pakistan under the name "Tafseer-e-Siddiqui". In 1941, your research treatise "Mas'alah-e-Adam-e-Naskh-e-Qur'an" (The Issue of the Non-Abrogation of the Qur'an) was printed by the Hyderabad Academy, in which you proved that no verse of the Noble Qur'an is abrogated (mansookh). Your compilation "Ad-Deen" in the Arabic language was included in the fiqh curriculum of Osmania University. In it, you proved that the foundation of the Hanafi madhhab is solely upon the Qur'an and Hadith and not on qiyas (analogical deduction) in the manner that people suppose. You produced a groundbreaking textual translation of "Fusus al-Hikam", the work of Allamah Shaykh al-Akbar Muhyiddin Ibn Arabi, which was published by the Translation Bureau (Dar al-Tarjama) of Osmania University and holds considerable fame. In tasawwuf (Sufism), you have several compilations, which include "Hikmat-e-Islamiyyah", "Al-Ma'arif", "Al-Irfan", "Al-Tawheed" (in the Persian language), and "Makateeb-e-Irfan". You used the pen name (takhallus) "Hasrat" and used to compose poetry in Arabic, Persian, Urdu, and Hindi. Your poetry collection has been adorned with the ornament of publication under the name "Kulliyat-e-Hasrat". You departed from this mortal world on Saturday, 17 Shawwal 1381 AH (24 March 1962 CE) at the time of Asr (late afternoon prayer).
