The Purity of the Divine Essence
*created you." I submitted: "This is indeed a very great thing." Then I asked: "After that, which one?" He said: "That you kill your child out of this fear that he will eat along with you (meaning he will become a partner in the food out of this fear)." I asked: "Then which one?" He said: "Then that you commit adultery with the wife of your neighbor."* (Bukhari has narrated this).
بَابٌ : فِى تَنْزِيْهِ ذَاتِهِ تَعَالَى *Chapter: In the statement of the Divine Being being pure* قَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى : قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ اَحَدٌ - اَللَّهُ الصَّمَدُ - لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُوْلَدْ - وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَّهُ كُفُوًا اَحَدٌ - (سورة الاخلاص) *Translation:- Allah Almighty says: "(O Muhammad ﷺ!) Say, Allah is entirely One. Allah is independent of all causes and needs. He has no child, nor is He the child of anyone, neither does He have mother nor father. No one is His equal."* وَقَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى : اَللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّوْمُ لَا تَاْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَّلَا نَوْمٌ - (آیت ۲۵۵ - البقرة) *Translation:- And Allah Almighty says: "Allah, there is no deity except Him, He is Ever-Living, Sustainer of all. Everything is established by Him. He always is and will always remain. Neither slumber overtakes Him, nor does sleep overwhelm His mind."* وَقَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى : سُبْحَانَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ الْعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُوْنَ - (آیت ۱۸۰ - وَالصّٰفّٰتِ) *Translation:- O Muhammad ﷺ! Your Lord, the Lord of Might, is free and pure from those things which they (the disbelievers) attribute to Him.* وَقَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى : وَلَا يُحِيْطُوْنَ بِهِ عِلْمًا - (آیت ۱۱۰ - طٰهٰ) *Translation:- And their knowledge cannot encompass Him (Allah).* وَقَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى : لَا تُدْرِكُهُ الْاَبْصَرُ وَهُوَ يُدْرِكُ الْاَبْصَرَ وَهُوَ اللَّطِيْفُ الْخَبِيْرُ - (آیت ١٠٣ - الانعام) *Translation:- And there is also this command of Allah Almighty that "Eyes cannot perceive or encompass Him. And the sight of people*

He perceives. He knows the minutest of details. He is aware of subtle things. He is All-Aware, He is informed of everything."
لَايَنْبَغِي: is not appropriate, is not befitting. خَفَضَ يَخْفِضُ: to lower, to make low. لَوْ: if. كَشَفَ: opened, made apparent. اَحْرَقَ: burned. سُبُحَاتُ: veils of light, purity. *Translation:- It is narrated from Abu Musa Ash'ari (RA) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood among us to deliver a sermon with five phrases. So he said in it, Allah does not sleep and sleeping does not befit Him. He lowers the scale with justice and raises it. The deeds of the night are raised towards Him before the deeds of the day, and the deeds of the day before the deeds of the night. His veil is light. If He were to open it, then the glorious manifestations of His Countenance would burn everything of creation as far as His sight reaches. (Meaning among all creations).* *(Muslim has narrated this)*
عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ رَسُوْلَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ هَلْ رَأَيْتَ رَبَّكَ ؟ قَالَ نُوْرٌ أَنَّى أَرَاهُ - (رواه مسلم - مشكوة) *Translation:- It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr (RA), he said that I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ "Did you see your Lord?" He said "He is Absolute Light, how can I see Him". (Muslim has narrated this. Mishkat).*
وَفِيْ رِوَايَةِ التِّرْمِذِيِّ قَالَ ( أَىِ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ ) رَاَى مُحَمَّدٌ رَّبَّهُ قَالَ عِكْرَمَةُ قُلْتُ أَلَيْسَ اللَّهُ يَقُوْلُ "لَا تُدْرِكُهُ الأَبْصَرُ وَهُوَ يُدْرِكُ الأَبْصَرَ" قَالَ (اَىِ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ) وَيْحَكَ ذَاكَ إِذَا تَجَلّٰى بِنُوْرِهِ الَّذِي هُوَ نُوْرُهُ وَقَدْ رَاَى رَبَّهُ مَرَّتَيْنِ - *Translation:- And in the narration of Tirmidhi Sharif it is (meaning Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (RA) said) Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ saw his Lord. (Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas's student) Hazrat Ikrimah says, I submitted "Does Allah Almighty not say that 'Eyes cannot encompass Him and He (Allah Almighty) encompasses the sights of people'."*

*Hazrat Ibn Abbas (RA) said: "O Ikrimah! Alas for you. This is the case (meaning He cannot be encompassed) when God Almighty manifests Himself with His special light. The Messenger of God ﷺ saw his Lord twice."* O friends! There are two types of manifestation of Allah Almighty. One is the manifestation of the Divine Essence apart from which there remains no existence of anything else, at that time there is no scope for any seer. This is the "Shan-e-Ahadith" (State of Absolute Oneness). در محفل یکتائی اغیار نمی گنجد * اغیار چساں گنجد چوں یار نمی گنجد Second: Manifestation of Names and Attributes. This is the "Mithali Tajalli" (Similitudinary Manifestation). And the Noble Prophet ﷺ was honored with this wealth not just twice but multiple times. He ﷺ is the mercy for both worlds, the reason for the creation of the universe. From him ﷺ, the Sahaba (Companions) and the noble Awliya (Friends of Allah) were also blessed with this wealth. اِلَّا مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ (Except as Allah willed).
لَوْ دَنَوْتُ: if I came near, went close. لَاحْتَرَقْتُ: I would surely burn. *Translation:- It is narrated from Hazrat Zurarah bin Abi Awfa (RH) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked Hazrat Jibril (AS) "Did you see your Lord?" Upon this (hearing this) Hazrat Jibril shuddered and submitted "O Muhammad ﷺ! There are seventy veils of light between me and Him (meaning Allah). If I get close to even one of them (meaning surely), I will be burnt to ashes." (This hadith is in Masabih). And Abu Nu'aym has narrated this in Hilya from Hazrat Anas (RA). But they have not mentioned this phrase (meaning they have not mentioned that "Hazrat Jibril shuddered"). (Mishkat).* اگر یک سر موئے برتر پرم * فروغ تجلی بسوزد پرم *(If I fly even a hair's breadth higher, the intensity of the manifestation will burn my wings).*
